MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of W.O.E. is to provide temporary
housing for formerly incarcerated women as well as their children
upon their release. W.O.E. will provide these women with the
tools needed to address the issues that led to their incarceration.
This re-entry program will provide substance
abuse treatment services, childcare services, budget and financial
management, life skills, vocational and educational services,
counseling services and appropriate referrals when needed.
The structured environment will teach these
women how to say no to drugs while lifting them spiritually,
emotionally, and physically. By housing these women in this
structured environment, it will reduce recidivism. It will
offer the support needed to combat the rising crime rate,
reduce state spending for the care of their children if they
were in foster care, and allow the women to become productive
members of society.
By developing linkages with other agencies/organizations
in an effort to provide holistic services while providing
the tools to realize success W.O.E. is committed to assisting
these women in functioning independently.
FAMILY TIES PROJECT
W.O.E.
Family Ties Project facilitates those encounters between mother
and child. Family Ties offers children of incarcerated parents
opportunity to focus on building the capacity to an attachment-trusting
affectionate relationship with others.
W.O.E. offers child developmental assessments,
childcare service planning, and attachment building activities
for children. These services are designed to address issues
of mother-child separation, child attachment disorders, and
to improve child function and the relationship of mother and
child.
