EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL
PROGRAMS
Most offenders coming out of the system lack
education or skills, W.O.E. is committed to help build a proper
foundation to enhance personal growth and foster successful
re-entry.
PROGRAMS OFFERED BY W.O.E. INC
- Pre-General Education Development (G.E.D.)
Prior to GED testing we will prepare individuals for
high school equivalency tests for adults age 21 and over.
Individuals can take the GED after being approved by an
official.
- Adult Basic Education (A.B.E.)
The purpose of Adult Basic Education programs are to
help individuals become proficient to basic skills. W.O.E.
provides individualized and group instruction to adults
ages 18 and up. We offer subjects in reading, writing,
speaking, and math.
- English as a Second Language
Instructors will develop classroom lesson plans teaching,
listening, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary.
Student will have access to resources to assist in developing
skills.
- Family Literacy
W.O.E. parents help their children succeed. In our family
literacy programs, adults and children will learn side
by side. Children develop the language and literacy skills
they need with the support of their parents, who also
have the opportunity to improve their own skills.
- Vocational
Vocational counseling and guidance referral services,
assistive technology, job development and job placement
are the core services available to clients. Other services
include evaluation, vocational training and transportation.
One-on-one instruction, group lessons, and working on
the computer provide students with the help they need
to improve their skills.
